Hi Tom,

You can delete a PM from your My Controls IF the PM has not been read yet. Once I got things sorted out, I decided to delete it - I was really just asking for some clarification on a couple of instructions as I was still thinking at that point, I must be doing something wrong. I read and re-read the instructions over and over - sometimes when you do this - you really aren't reading the words anymore and you are totally missing the point. I thought another pair of eyes might help and another perspective.

It actually is quite easy to update Coppermine - it was just David's files that were throwing a monkey wrench in the updating. Now. I will know what to do in the future. His explanation was interesting to read - I wish I had his knowledge.

I couldn't get into Gallery (not Coppermine) last evening again - the old 'log in' problem. I looked at Gallery web site and read about Gallery 2 - I have just downloaded it and may try and install it after supper. I understand this version does use a db - they do have a comparison chart between versions 1 and 2 on their site. If I can get it working (I think I read it is easier to configure), I will replace version 1 with the new album on gailplayground and make some notes. I don't know how many times I tried to log in last PM - I did read on the site that log in has been one of the bugs in version 1. God, don't we know it, eh! I think we have all had log in problems at one point or another with Gallery.

Think that is it for now - I want to get Angel out for her afternoon stroll now. She was bad today. When I came out of the shower this morning - I looked out toward the living room and saw all of this white stuffing over the carpet. She had chewed on a new stuffed frog I had recently bought her and the stuffing was all over the place and the squeaker was hanging out. She got a scolding but I'm sure it won't do any good. She was good for a short while after and now is back to her usual behaviour!  :lol

You can??  Shocked

You go to 'My Controls' and go to your 'PMs' then go to 'Sent PM's and delete that one??  unsure

I bet that was something new to Tom also.  lol

Gee whiz Gail, what would we ever do with out you.  :hug

So far, I haven't had too many problem with Gallery. My daughters haven't had any problems, that I know of anyway, but if you think Gallery would be worth updating, maybe I'll give it a try later on.

Hi Lorraine,

If you send a PM to anyone, and IF that person has not yet read the PM, then yes, it can be deleted. Get into 'My Controls' - at the left side - you will see the Menu. The first is 'Messenger' and at the bottom of that list is 'Message Tracker'. Click on 'Message Tracker' and a page will open showing which messages have been read and which messages have not been read. Under 'Unread Messages' - you will see the following:

Quote
The messages shown here have not been read by the person they were sent to. You may delete them before they are read.

Because Tom had not yet read his message, and because I had solved the problem - I simply deleted the message (PM).

As far as Gallery goes, my understanding is they have 2 flavours now. Gallery 1.5 which is what we are used to setting up and Gallery 2 which is a new version. I gather Gallery 2 uses a database like MySQL - I think there are a lot of added modules you can download and install. I may work on this later tonight or tomorrow. I hardly look at my Gallery - I get so frustrated when I can't get logged in. The Gallery Team do acknowledge that this is a problem with Gallery - I think they have worked on a fix for Gallery 2.
